Can I get a wider tire if I switch my wheel size slightly?
I currently have 20X9's in the front and 20X10's in the rear and I run those with stock Pirellis. I am going to have to get some new tires soon and my current tires have been stretched over the rims. It isn't atrocious by any means, but I feel like I could take advantage of having to get some new tires and purchase something a little wider. Anybody know which sizes I can go to?

I would follow this:
Recommended 20" tires for 2010 Camaro 245/45-20 = 28.7" tall, 8.0-8.5 wheel 255/45-20 = 29.0" tall, 8.0-8.5 wheel 265/40-20 = 28.4" tall, 8.5-9.0 wheel 275/40-20 = 28.7" tall, 9.0-9.5 wheel 285/40-20 = 28.9" tall, 9.0-10.0 wheel 295/35-20 = 28.1" tall, 9.5-10.5 wheel 305/35-20 = 28.4" tall, 10.0-10.5 wheel 315/35-20 = 28.7" tall, 10.5-11.0 wheel |

They are Factory Reproductions Style 41 Chrome Replica ZL1 wheels. I think they say 20X9 +27 20X10 +35

If I were you, I'd run ZL1 sizes--
285/35/20 front 305/35/20 rear

I have the exact same front 9 inch rim as you and I'm running a 275 on it and it looks and handles great (slightly pokes out the front fenders). For the rear if I were you I would go with a 295 or 305 so it's flush with the fender. Probably a 295. I would stick stick with 40's unless your lowered then 35's would look good. There is just way to much wheel gpa with 35 spec tires on a non lowered car.

Could I get Michelin Pilot Super Sports? What sizes could I get in my rim size?

The Michelin Pilot Super Sport runs considerably wider than most tires, so the most I would personally do is a 255/40 on the front, and a 285/35 on the rear.
Keep in mind, that is "too wide" by what Michelin recommends, but it does fit. I temporarily ran this exact combination on my stock wheels before switching to wider wheels.

Both setups are within the accepted range of wheel widths, the fronts on wheels half an inch wider than "measuring" and the rears on "measuring width" wheels. Unless you need a soft ride (unlikely given the wheel widths) or you're chasing 1LEs at HPDE track days, this is a good place to be. Even your current 245/45's on 9" and 275/40's on 10" are both within the acceptable range of wheel widths. The wider tires on these same rims may give you a little more ultimate grip . . . and may give away a tiny bit of the steering response that I suspect you've become accustomed to. Norm |
