Driver Seat Moved By Itself While Driving

Last night while I was driving, my driver seat moved forward by itself like someone was touching the forward button. I did not touch anything. Anyone ever experience this before?

My radio was changing stations on its own once. You could see the presets blinking and clicking like they were being pressed. I disconnected the negative terminal in the trunk for a few minutes.

Thanks! Electrical problems are the worst and hardest to diagnose. I did a Google search and someone on the Corvette forum had a similar problem in 2014.

One thing you might want to check for is the wiring harness rubbing on the brackets of the seat. Within days of taking delivery of my 2018 my seat stopped working (blew the fuse) and after feeling around under the seat I found the protective coating on the wiring harness had been worn through and some of the wires were exposed. As a temporary fix until it could get to the dealer I wrapped it in electrical tape so it stopped shorting against the metal brackets. They ended up removing my seat, fixing all the wires that had become exposed, re-installed it and re-routed the harness to ensure that didn't happen again.

So while it stopped working all together in my case I suppose it's possible if the wiring harness is damaged the motor could be engaged without ever having touched the switch.

On a side note I swear my seat had moved while I wasn't in it the other day, my seating position felt entirely wrong and I readjusted. I thought at the time maybe I was crazy but seeing this thread, maybe I'm not .

Trentelshark,

Thanks for your input. I'll take a look and see if I notice anything. I know we both are not crazy. LOL!

I would suggest replacing the key fob battery if that has not been done recently. It's a CR2032.

Your car isn't nicknamed Christine, by any chance?
