I forgot how much hard work....

Since I just got the car last week, I wanted to do a good wash, claybar and wax. I must be getting old took me about 3 hours total but it came out just beautiful. i used all Meguiar's products. I still have to wipe down the interior with a little shine Meguiar's stuff also. Will put up pics after I eat Breakfast...Should I use an over the counter spray ceramic coating to top it off?

In this heat and humidity, I take lot's of breaks. Takes me several hours too. I used Mothers CMX, seems pretty good, so far only have 1 coat. Will clean and apply 2nd coat this weekend.

Yeppers, will do. White takes a little longer to do because it's more difficult to tell when the haze is fully wiped off.

Man I just won’t do it anymore, my tired old body won’t handle it. I’ll do a rinseless wash and then apply a spray SI02 product, the look is acceptable to me. About once a year I’use a finishing polish with the DA. Pretty quick…

Looks good...I just do that big process once a year..in between I just wash and use Meguiar's ultimate quick wax..Works great keeps the paint smooth..you can even apply it in the sun...For the Matte wrap on the hood I am using chem guys matte detailer spray sealant. It works great...

I take my car to a DIY spray wash. About 10 minutes to wash and dry and it looks great. I'll never spend hours cleaning a car that'll be dirty again in a week or less.

Funny how things change as you get older.

I used to be one of those guys who would spend 3 hours every Saturday morning washing and detailing my C5 Z06. With touch ups as I drove it thru out the weekend.

Now, I will sometimes go a month between washes and even then I take it to a detail shop to be done.

It was for this reason I did the ceramic and clear bra this time around.

I still have decent energy and will be washing once a week minimum. Also using the spray wax to keep it smooth. Only once a year I will do the major clay bar liquid wax deal..Going to try the Meguiar's CMX ceramic spray next time I wash it....

Black car.
Dirty before it's even dry after the wash.

i paid someone to do the hard work and apply ceramic coating, i helped here and there. i’m lucky to have friends that are on the up and up with this stuff. i was thinking about doing it myself next year but eh idk. never was a paint and body guy. i don’t drive the car often so i typically wash it before i go out. thanks to the coating it takes about 20 minutes to go from 0 to hero. i can live with that. we also coated the wheels, after hitting them with the leaf blower i don’t bother touching them.
