New 2019 1LE in the driveway
Afternoon all! I'm dropping this note to say hi to the group and introduce myself. I come from a 2008 E92 M3 (m6) and loved every second of ownership of that car. Had about 200K Kms when I got rid of her, and was just starting to cause issues. I knew it was downhill from there, so it was time for something new.
I test drove the Mustang, as I can get them at cost, and was pretty impressed with the Performance Pack 2 car, but the Perf Pack 1 car left me wanting. It was wooden and felt heavy and a bit slow to react. Then I drove the 1LE that just happened to be sitting on a lot due to a deal that fell through. Never before would I have considered a Camaro (I do hate the visibility, but pretty used to it already, and I REALLY liked owning a german car and the way it drives) - I was an instant convert and made a deal on the car within 24 hours. I've had the car for less than 500KMs at this point, and suffering a slow leak in my brand new front driver tire (will get it fixed tomorrow), but I am simply awe-struck with the cars capabilities, road feel and competency. It just feels solid. Connected. Responsive. Everything I feared an american car WOULDN'T be - it really is. In spades. Also loving the adjustability of the car - the M3 had some of those toys, but they didn't seem as effective (well, the differences were less pronounced). Overall a screaming deal for a bad-ass ride and once she's broken in I'll have to head out to Mosport for some track time. This should be fun! |

Congrats.. Your experience is similar to mine. I tested all the American sports/muscle cars and drove my brothers $165k Porsche. I drove the SS1LE and bought it on the spot. And yeah the SS1LE smokes my brothers car and his fancy tattoos
