Magnetic Numbers - What happened to my paint?

I used magnetic numbers at an autox event this weekend. It was my first time using them on the car. When I removed the driver side after the event, I noticed this hazy finish on my paint where the magnet had been. I could have sworn I was able to wipe it off with my finger the day of the event, but now after I washed the car today, I cannot get it to come off.

What is it? And how do I get it off?

Was it WET ?

If you leave wet stuff on modern paint, it will absorb water.. esp if it warmed up later in the day. It will naturally gas off or you can accelerate with *some* heat.

Hmm now that you say that, it was very humid all day. We did get a quick rain shower in the morning(magnet was on the car) and it heated up pretty good throughout the day.

So just some heat will cure it off?

Yeah, happens all the time, see it more on darker colors.

Leave it facing the sun for few hours.
