Fooling the Computer

So in my 2013 Camaro Convertible I was able to disconnect a plug in the trunk and eliminate the cover hiding our tops. That way my top went up and down without having that piece installed. I left it not installed.

So that was the older system, is there any trick to being able to disable the new system so it does not matter if the small divider is installed or not?

I will keep it installed but would prefer it not being functional just in case I hit a bump and it comes loose, not allowing top operation.

Thanks for any insight.

There's a magnet in the the upper right (rear top passenger side) corner of the divider, and a sensor on the car. Cut the last few inches from corner off the divider and snap it into place. Voila!
