I'm 56. First car I drove was a 1963 Fiat 600. Was about 25HP. Had to grab 3rd gear to get over the high rise bridge that had just been built. I wish my dad was around to see this car.

I am sincerely grateful to have to opportunity to be able to show my pops. Having owned Chevelle's in the past, I know he can't wait to row through the gears.

Enjoy your time with your "pops." Life is short. Turning wrenches with my dad on that old Fiat is the reason I love cars like I do to this day.

It truly is, I never understood until recently. Outside of truly loving the car, I essentially bought it to pay homage to him, I know he'll thoroughly enjoy it. Hopefully he'll get the new C8 and we can work on ours together.

That sounds awesome. Messing with cars with your dad...oh, and dad just happens to have a new C8 Corvette. Can't get much better than that.

It really would be awesome but more of a pipe dream. The only thing I would imagine he might go for is the CTS-V. He needs a double knee replacement, and getting in and out of a car like the 1LE and C8 (I assume similar ride heights) just isn't doable anymore. He is looking more into Jeep SRT8 and BMW X7

While the new C8 is pretty sweet, the Jeep, Caddy and BMW are pretty cool too. Hanging with dad is the awesome part. Makes me smile thinking about it.
