CAI INTAKE

I've been looking around for CAI's and I'm noticing that K&N, Flowmaster, Airaid, and Spectre do not have a connection for the sound tube. Is there a reason why they don't do this, other than just being cheap? THX!!!

The setup I am really wanting is this:
-Aluminum Tube
-Uncovered heat shield for the cone filter
-Sound tube hook up

I guess i want a kit setup like this because I just want all the maximum amount of intake sound I can get.

I think the only kit that comes close to what I want is:
https://www.coldairinductions.com/sh...extured-black/

I could run without the lid on but then I wouldn't get a good seal against the hood...

Does anyone know of any other companies that make CAI kits or hell Id even go custom? Thanks!

Don't quote me, but I think Rotofab makes one that you can run with or without the sound tube

Most people don't want the added sound to an already louder intake.

But if you want it, a tiny hole saw and a simple Barb glued in will do the trick. Won't cost more than 15 bucks and a few minutes. Use whatever intake you want.

There's no real design consideration needed. Just mark about where the tube comes to the intake. Cut the hole. Insert the barb (you may want to saw some of the threaded side down so it doesn't obstruct much). Glue with something designed for under hood, and you are good to go. Add hose clamp since you don't want to make the connection tight since the only thing holding the barb might be glue if you can't manage to thread a retaining nut on.

Nobody will be able to see it so go to town.

I just got the AFE Momentum GT, and it DOES have the sound tube intake. I am staying away from the open box ones and aluminum tube because its heat soak affect performance in a negative way.

I have been all over other forums and pages and people are going to get what they want but the closed stock airbox is super good, and you cant get too much better. That is why I went with AFE, it just improves on the closed box design. Also it looks way coolser IMO. The tests I have seen from people using those cheaper CAIs like K&N show a drop in performance.

I think CAI's intake kit should be pretty good just because I trust them as a company but honestly it doesnt look like your going to get what you pay for.

Why would you want the annoying noise in the cabin?

That would be the alternative. Was hoping I wouldn’t have to get crafty but it might be the only way to get it as I want it. And as to why I want it louder, I’m partial to 6 cylinders, this engine sounds so good that I just want more of that, and I just like a loud intakes. I’m outside the box, and that’s ok.

So with this said, has anyone ever heard of the company AF Dynamic? Seems like they make CAI kits.

Lol yes it does have a port for the sound tube. I was thinking about plugging it but when I installed it I saw the instructions to just plug in the sound tube to the new intake so I didnt even worry about it.
