I'd look into what Scoggins Dickey is using to build their L8T. They are advertising their setups in my NMCA Magazine

i say low compression because every other direct injected gas engine i know of is at least 12:1.

Yeah, I wish GM would have been more competitive with them and did 12:1 at least and 11.5:1 in the 5.3. They also may have been more limited with a 2 valve pentroof chamber since everyone else uses 4 valves with a centered spark plug. I mean even the modern HEMI has a central plug, but of course they haven't updated it to DI, and supposedly, according to click-bait articles, Stellantis has having the HEMI killed.

I mean the LT6 has 12.5:1 compression apparently. But maybe the L76 put a stop to 12:1+ since maybe they wanted the L86 to be a "premium recommended engine" and didn't want to create differences in the L86 and LT1.
