New tire: Goodyear Eagle F1 SuperSport series

I had no idea that Goodyear was even coming out with this line of tire. Apparently it was designed to take on the Michelin Pilot series of tires—specifically the Sport Cup 2’s. This all might be a good read/watch for those who are interested.

Nice... Good news for those that DD their ZLE's, and those that have problems with even SC3's!! I can't imagine how long it will be before they hit the market and the sizes that are first made available, considering some are still waiting for the 3R's in 20". I know in a simple world I could just get 19" rims and be done, but it's not happening anytime soon. My set of 19" will come on my next car purchase. I actually need to look into a 20" wet track only tire, if anyone wants to save me using the search tab

Only issue is at least for now these seem to be aimed at the very top tier track cars aka your GT2/3 RS, 600LT, Pista, etc so I wouldn’t expect to see these in Camaro friendly sizes anytime soon. Also I’ve only seen any info on these on the EU sites so they may not even be coming to the states for a while. With that said once I get to Germany I will definitely make an effort to try these out if I can get my hands on them in proper sizes, if they are better than the SC3/SC3R it will definitely be worth it!

The new range will be introduced next year, with possible fitments ranging from 18” to 21” diameters, 205-305mm widths for the standard and R variants of the tyre and 265 to 325 widths available for the highest performing RS model. Fitments for the Volkswagen Golf GTI and Porsche 911 GT2 RS may be available next year.

Great info - thx for posting. I wonder if these are just Euro versions of G3 and G3R.

From my experience there is no pace increase from Cup2 vs G3, perhaps with some very minor +/-.
Yet the price diff is astronomical and their longevity is not as robust (they chunk with hard use).

Very interesting. Judging by images between the two, The Eagle F1 SuperCar 3 and 3R use a different tread pattern/design than these Super Sport R and RS's in the video. Likely use a different compound as well. I'm sure Goodyear has taken what they learned from R&D with Chevy's Camaro Team, how many years ago now, to develop the next generation. Plus I believe as part of the SuperCar 3 and 3R development, they were not able to sell them in other sizes from the Camaro sizes for a period of time, just to keep them out of the competitions hands. I could be wrong, but it seemed that way. Curious to see if these SS-R and SS-RS tires will become original equipment on anything. I'm a Michelin kind of guy, but its good to see competition as everyone only gets better.

Well said! The patterns are different but just slightly. They still follow the same design principle of large outer blocks and main channels on the inside. I like that design as it is very effective. Obviously hope this is not just a Euro version if existing rubber...time will tell!
GY has tons of top shelf racing experience, lest we forget Fingers crossed!

Looks like they got compared to a lot of other high performance tires and they came out on top. Hope these come to US soon.

These seem to be yet another new GY tire and different from what OP posted. Looks like GY is trying to cover a broader range now, below the top dog streetable track tire. Interesting! Thx for posting the info!

Looking at the size list, shows they don't even make them wide enough in 19" and 20" sizes to even matter for us.

They are in the sale "line" as OP's post (check the article in OP's post), it seems new F1 Super Sport will be close to our F1 Super Car 3, the Super Sport R is close to the F1 Super Car 3R and the Super Sport RS is the next step up like how Michelin now has the Cup 2R.

Also like I said before I don't expect to see these in our sizes, and more notably I don't expect to see these in the US any time soon, pretty sure these are going to be EU only at least for a good while or we would have seen something about this from a US source/site by now.

The Super Sport in 295/30 front and 305/30 rear could work on our stock wheels, they look pretty good based on this test (yea suck it PS4s!!!!) so I may try to pick up a set when I get to Germany.

What GY needs to make is a 200TW tire that will compete with the other 200TW track tires

They do!!! The F1 SC3 tires that come stock on the SS 1LE and ZL1. Even though I think they are officially 220 rated.

I had Advan Neova 08R's & RE-11's on my previous M3 and the SC3 tires are just as grippy and can carry the same lateral G's.

They are not quite on the same level as the RE-71R's, but VERY close.
