When to change oil in break in on ‘19zl1 1le?

I changed it at 500 and doing another change tomorrow now that I’m at 1,500 miles. Dealership doesn’t recommend the 2nd oil change but I have done it on all my cars in the past (m4, m5 mustangs) is this overkill? Thanks in advance

Nope, many do the 1500 mile change. I'm literally putting in the 15w50 for a track day at my 1500...

I wouldn't say it is overkill. I did it as well. I found some cloudy metal particle mist in my first oil change at 500 miles, but the second one at 1500 miles was very clean. It is cheap preventative maintenance and during the first part of the engines life, it is important to get rid of all the shavings.
