I purchased a 2018 HBM 1SS A8 in Feb ‘18. Yes I had the shudder but caught it early, got the latest flush and it was fixed. I’m retired and put on very few miles annually. I figured this would be my last vehicle. When Chevy announced in early ‘23 that Camaro was ending in January ‘24 I agonized for months about keeping the’18 or getting a ‘23 or ‘24. I ultimately got a ‘23 SGM 1SS A10. Preference? I like the ‘16-‘18 front end and hood. I also like both versions of the tail. The ‘23 SGM came with black bow ties, and I replaced the fender and rear and grill emblems with chrome outlined SS badges. Bottom line I love ‘em both. Bought new for the warranty.

Just a few months ago I had to make the decision between the 16-18's or the 2019s and up. It was a tuff choice between the two, I could afford either, but chose the 2018. Mainly for the looks, but it was also less expensive. I have to say that the one thing I don't like about my 2018 is the A8 transmission, it shifts poorly at part throttle and sometimes seams confused, LOL. It is sluggish and too soft shifting at part throttle. At full throttle it does good, but of course most of my driving is a part throttle..... If I were to make this decision with what I know now, it would be even tougher.

Personally I wouldn’t buy any Camaro with an A8. If you are only looking for 6M’s then the decision is harder to make.

I bought a low mileage '18 1LE last year because I wanted that body style.

Get a tune on it, makes a huge difference.

You are probably correct, but I have no clue where I could go to get this done in my general area? Or could it be done remotely? Any clues on how to get started looking would be appreciated.

Seems like the 2020-24s get unfairly grouped into the ‘19s. I don’t think ANYONE really loves the ‘19 front end, but they really fixed it well for ‘20 and later if you ask me.

By simply filling in the hole in the bumper of the “flowtie” and painting it body color that really fixed the major disaster.

"16-'18 SS is better looking but the refresh wasn't as bad as people moaned about at the time. And '19+ owners just have a better excuse to get a ZL1 front bumper. Zl1s are better looking than either SS version.

'19+ has superior ABS calibration for track use, but it's possible to install '19+ ABS in an older car for <$100.

It seems like GM just makes the RS models look goofy on purpose.

No, I bought my 2018 two years ago, and specifically looked for an 16-18 modell, since I like they look better

Sort of... I did.

I had a '17 50th 2SS convertible that I sold (which I still regret) but after a couple different cars I'm back in a 22 ZL1... so take that for what it's worth.

I like the LT1

Looks like a v6 or 4cyl so thiefs are not interested. Also no one cares about the look of a v6 front bumper haha

*cough*

2020 here, I specifically got rid of my 2016 because of the crap A8 Transmission issue.

And I specifically got the 2020 because I did NOT like the 2019 front end.

So to answer the OP's question, 2020 or later for me ty.

I had a 14. I thought that was by far the best styling up till then. I don’t care for the 19-24 front or the rear quarters but everything else is a step up I think. Then there’s the last year so I traded a V6 RS for a 24 CE V8 SS. Love it.

There’s not a big difference in the front end 2016-18 SS and LT/LS trims but there is on 2019-24 models so I think therein lies the rub.

I’ve seen RS-equipped 16-18 V6 models with the 20” performance wheels and spoiler and you really need to be a car/Camaro enthusiast to tell them apart from an SS.

19 and after there’s a huge difference.
