The Z06 WILL be an everyday 10 sec car. I mean, excluding rain. It is going to beat every other trim C8 in every category. And I pretty much think the only Vette to date that will compete with it in anything will be the ZR1 and maybe at top speed but that is it. GM does not make people pay extra for a car when the cheaper version can beat it...like how with Ford a $30K Mustang GT can beat a $70K GT350R in the quarter mile. I am sure that by the time the Z06 is released GM will have spent enough in development to make sure the Z06 name reigns supreme until the ZR1 arrives. And let's say the Z51 does manage to best the Z06 somehow...it is going to get utterly destroyed in every other category.

Looking at the acceleration of the Vettes, a C7 Stingray can put up a fight against a ZL1. The C7 Z06 beats the ZL1. As does the C7 ZR1. The C8 Stingray and Z51 pretty much matches the ZL1 from what I have seen in videos. Of course that is up to around 150ish when the ZL1 will march to the 190s and the Stingrays will top out much lower. So that makes me speculate that the C8 Z06 will actually outrun the current ZL1. And I think it will either match the GT500 or stay close enough that the GT500 won't walk at all. Of course, after 180 MPH the GT500 is toast. I don't think you can go wrong with putting your money on GM. I am going to say the C8 Z06 will best the GT500 at everything stock for stock.

For sure. There might be a metric or two that a Z51 might be "better" in but overall the Z06 will reign supreme

I was going by what a couple guys on the FB pages/groups were saying about their encounters with the C8. Most of them said the C8 hung well over 100 MPH. Even if it just hangs with the ZL1 that says something. And with 600 HP I'm pretty sure it will walk away.

I hear you but the facebook C8 guys could be embellishing a bit.. Did you find the video I was talking about? Definitely not hanging from a roll at all.
The C8 is impressive 0-100 but really in the 10 sec range (DA dependent) 60-130 car. Similar to the Trackhawk or Tesla, the C8 gets out off the line hard but peeters out at higher speeds...
The C8Z should be a beast from a dig and roll.

I actually can tolerate almost any car person....except the car show guy who has go fast parts on his car and never runs it.

I remember back when I was on the board for our local racing series. I was doing promo at one of our sponsors car shows. Plenty of GTO/Camaro/Firebirds(it was a GM performance shop). Lot of the guys I talked to said they ate mustangs for breakfast so kept telling them to come on out and enter a few races not one ever showed up. AKA I can't stand the full on bench racer

I'll look for the video. But it could also be based on the driver or other factors. I'll check it out regardless.

Can't say I blame them considering how many people out there lie or "forget" about or don't disclose certain mods they have.

I don't mind bench racing since it's a good way to not get your car impounded and keep yourself out of jail and having no court fees or loss of license or loss of job etc. I remember a certain fella on here kept trying to get me to street race which I declined. He, and a bunch of others, ended up getting removed from here. But anyway, I'll talk shop. But I'm not engaging in some ego driven showy display. There is just too much to lose.

Ok so I did see the videos and the ZL1 does walk away from the C8s at higher speeds. Looks like once you get into the triple digits is when the ZL1 will start to pull away.

I personally never been there. It is a bit too far for me. Or at least farther than I am willing to travel. I used to go to Old Bridge/Englishtown Raceway. After some time I kinda lost interest in it.
