Solo Performance Axleback

Pulled the trigger on a Solo Performance Axleback. I was actually looking through a 6th gen Facebook Group for a used Borla Atak, and came across a post from them running a pre-sale. Called them up and ended up making a deal. It is basically a muffler delete with J-Pipes, somewhat similar to the MBRP approach. I also had the shop delete the secondary cats while they were under the car.

Very cool! Sounds great! I heard one in person last night at a cruise night. Quiet when you need it to be and loud as hell on the throttle! I had a Solo Mach-X system on my 5th gen and loved it! Well done!

Thanks! I love the sound, it's just about right for me. And 0 drone, even with the secondary cat delete. I can still use hands-free in the car and have a complete conversation, unless the windows are down and I stomp on the pedal

Cold start sets off the alarm on my wife's WS6 though, every single morning without fail so far

My assumption is drone? I know AFE did something similar except with an H pipe. A fab person I talked to said it's to do with drone.

lol and my afe one sounds awesome but still has drone in 6 gear going 75-80mph

Yeah I'm not quite sure what that's about really. They really do spend the time working on these setups to produce the sound they want, so I'm sure they have an explanation. I just haven't asked the question.

The J-Pipes are tuned to handle the drone, and they do that job well. I'll have to contact them out of curiosity to see what the extra X-Pipe is for. It could be due to GM's not being a true X-pipe I guess

I love the sound of the afe setup, it was just a little too rich for my blood lol. Sucks about the drone though. My old 4th gen SS had LTs and dumped at the axle, so I know all about drone...at just about any speed with that car

yea the afe one with the headers on track mode is brutal lol did an auto x event saturday in anaheim and they said my car was one of the loudest ones there lol

Finally got a (very short) video of the car under some acceleration. I let my brother drive so I could hear it from the outside for a change, and film. I cut off the recording a tad too quickly, but meh.

I'm very impressed. Literally no drone and I can have a conversation with my 5 year old now.
