The good news is high trade-in/resale values. The bad news is that you would like pay more for whatever you replace it with. Unless you're reducing your vehicle count or buying something totally unloved, then I think the gains will offset the losses.

I just sold my 2019 f150 to vroom 3wks ago for pretty much what I paid for it new. It had 8600 miles on it and was in great condition.

This COVID used car market allowed me to take that money and buy the Camaro I have now.

The week after I bought my Camaro I sold my 2017 RAM Laramie and got a 2020 RAM Limited. 0% for 84 months. They gave me a LOT for my trade. I could not pass it up.

So Cal is horrible for used cars; I usually have to make a road trip to find any kind of deals.

I'm the only idiot I know who sold a V-8 manual droptop in Socal under-priced, and now is desperate to buy it back.

I bought a 2018 GT3350 with 1400 miles on it in late Oct 2019 from a Cadillac dealer in New Hampshire. Beat him up on price for 4 weeks and finally he caved at just under $48K with snow on the ground. Drove it for just under a year and sold it for just over $48K. Was able to get into the exact 2020 SS1LE I wanted for a hair over $42K out the door.

I bought my ZL1 1LE on June 4 2020 for 54K with 4900 miles. It now has 9,000 miles and people are listing identical cars for 60K! I've thought about selling and waiting for bottom to fall out and buy one back, but I don't want to give up the year I still have left of the B2B warranty and 3 years of powertrain warranty I still have on it (that's a lot or warranty for a 2018) Plus it's just too much fun to drive!

Man, can’t believe you got rid of the GT350. The FPC sound is amazing. I love the handling for the SS 1LE, but wish it had the FPC sound.

The used car prices are just asking prices. Shoot the dealers or seller an offer to see if they bite. I do that for new and used. They are waiting for a lower ranking military person that wants a fast car and get them with high interest rates. I usually buy new since the used rates are almost double. I was going to get a used ZL1 instead of the SS 1LE, but glad with the SS1LE. Scary that it loses traction with the 305. I’d probably be dead in a ZL1.

I sold my last ZL1 before everything went nuts, figured I could have easily sold it for 4-5K more now than I did then, looking at the current market. Oh, well timing is everything.

All depends on location, other factors. Like here in SWFL it's a terrible market for the cars we like. The dealers usually only carry v6 models, or they carry fully loaded convertibles like 2ss that approach 55 grand!

SS is very hard to find around here, but up in the Tampa and Orlando area for example bigger selection and lower prices too on new and used. Same way with the east coast of FL like Ft. Lauderdale and Miami I've noticed due to larger selection.

I bought my 2016 2ss used, 16k miles for $31,200. Has everything except Sun roof and Mag ride control. I was going to consider going up to Tampa area for Lt1 as they were only 3 grand more, but an almost like new used SS that low miles and more features and local I jumped on it.

back then it was hard to find used Mustangs. Then recently a whole bunch listed and great prices too.

Also, with the internet dealers can easily see what other dealers are selling used cars for and what their inventory is. No other car like it around and they can jack the price up.

You can thank this for one, economy was in the tank and less people trading in to buy new cars. Also, shutting production lines down to make ventilators that were not even needed hurt as well. That was a huge sham.

I have to wonder if that was a big profit to make them and if so maybe they jumped on it.

Not sure if the dealer gave me a deal because I had bought a Silverado LTZ a few weeks before that I got kind of hosed on

Wowzers, WTF! Did it have NPP? Was the miles high on it? hard to imagine you got a less than 4 year old 2ss for that dirt cheap though. Did it have collision with the air bags going off in the vehicle history?

New those were upwards 45k depending on options. That's a pretty big drop in value. That's why I gotta ask if there was something else to it.

995 NPP
300 Black 20" Wheels
225 Black Lugs (insane!!!!)

So it is a stripper 2SS, so to speak.
I'd be curious to know how much of that was DEALER discount versus GM incentives. I'm thinking there's just no way a dealer is going to offer $5k+ below invoice on that car on their own.

I made a killing selling my Challenger because of the pandemic. It put me in a great position to order an SS 1LE soon.

I have my Camaro SS for sale here on the forum. Some have given me a hard time about my asking price. But, when I search nationwide for my model, the prices are at or above mine with more miles and not as much equipment.

I am not sure what the dealer discounts and incentives were combined on my deal, but I had a similar deal on mine with no money down and no trade, my bank loan check handed to the salesman was $42,000.00 after a $12,000 off the sticker price ad on their website. I paid out of pocket the approx. $150 for documents/fees. This was in May 2019 for my New 2018 2SS Vert with:

- Auto
- NPP
- MRC
- Wheel Locks
- Stripes
- Blacked out Bowties (F&R)
