Shift to park message

my car will not read park , but will read reverse, nuetral and drive ? has anyone else run into this problem ?

Could be bad ground somewhere, I would look for any loose connections.
Might also try to disconnect the battery for around 10mins and then reconnect and see if it works.

If it is reading other spots just not park I would lean towards the switch in the shifter, it is a known issue.

i bought a new shifter and it still says the same thing man

Mine issue was a lose ground on the back of the driver's side head but we checked the linkage first, then replaced the shifter, then the fuse block on top of the battery and then the TCM. At that point we had to take to the dealer and they charged me almost $800 in labor to find the issue which just ended up being a lose ground om the head. The shifter is a known issue in a lot of GM vehicles and if that isn't the issue you might have to do like I did and let the dealer run it down.

Do you know the location of the ground on the driver side head ?

No sorry the dealer fixed it and just said it was on the back of the driver's side head.

Could be a lot of things causing it unfortunately, might just need the dealer to look at it like I ended up having to do.
