high pressure fuel pump
i have a 2016 camaro ss. it has 16,000 miles on it. last october i had a high performance shop install an edelbrock super charger. 1500 miles later the high pressure fuel pump failed spilling gas into the engine. about 1500 miles after a new pump was installed the same thing happened. the installer doesn't seem to know why this is happening. anybody have a clue?

If you have an aftermarket cam, I'd say the pump isn't shimmed correctly. If you're on a stock cam, then I have no idea

Are you sure the pump failed or did one the fuel line pipes fail from the pump to the rails. Those are one time use only and should be replaced when you change the pump or injectors. The injectors also have seal and one of those could have leaked. Its also possible that as Jim said the pump wasn't shimmed correctly and caused the shaft to fail. I had a pump fail but it didn't cause any fuel to dump into the engine.

I'd think if it was his lines, it would have leaked immediately rather than after 1500 miles. I could be wrong though.
