ZL1 Sound system

April 8th will make my 1year anniversary since taking delivery of my Z. Only real complaint is the speakers used. I would hope GM revisits the speaker selection for the 2019+ cause these speakers lack. Last weekend i traded my 2012 RS in for a 2018 Daytona Charger SRT with the Harmon Kardon system and it sounds so much better than my Zl1 system. It would be killer if GM was able to do a contract with Hertz speakers. Bose doesn't seem to be as good as they used to be IMO.

I agree. The blaupunkt in my 2005 GTO is a far better sounding system. For me, adding more mid range and a little more bass has helped, but the speakers give kind of a shallow sound to me. But the sound of the engine and exhaust make up for it!

It’s not the greatest. For 70k there is only so much they can include. It’s does ok.

Yeah I'm putting in Hertz components and an amp this summer. It's an inconvenience but it's much easier to fix a stereo than it is to fix steering and chassis feel.

My Toyota Tacoma TRD has a better sound system. But then it has tweeters in the headliner right above your head that really help in clarity.

If I press my leg against the door panel to keep it front rattling with the volume up it sounds okay to me

For $70k? That's not exactly cheap. The sound system could definitely be better. Especially since a company like GM probably pays pennies for these components compared to what a regular consumer would. My Challenger Hellcat had a much better system for around the same msrp. That's about my only knock on the car though, besides weight and not having red calipers.

And not able to out handle a ZL1. Cant have it all for 70k. 650 hp and warranty takes a bite out of that price. Where else can you get 650 hp for 70?

I think you misunderstood my post. I currently have a ZL1. Traded the Hellcat for it. My "only knock" comment was referring to the ZL1, not the Hellcat.

I got you 100 percent the first time. There is only so much GM can throw in for 70k and still make profits.

But I forgot to mention, my radio is off almost all the time anyway. I want to listen to motormusic.
