I wasn't watching the tach, I was using the shift lights on the hud. Just listen to the engine.

On my shifts i shift right before the dots connect and flash on the hud shift light. this works the best for me. The car chirps into 3rd on prepped surface doing this.

I understand, that's what I'll do myself, I meant on the video I'd liked to have seen the tach just to see if/how high it jumps during the shifts. I've watched it four times, I love it! You can feel the power during the shifts. I'm waiting for the weather to be in the 60s. Fifties is to cool, don't trust the grip on the tires and I don't want to get more action than I can handle.

Just shift at a lower rpm until you do it several times and completely understand how it works. The video may help see where to shift but you still have to look and "feel" the revs for yourself. IIRC it jumps about 300-500 rpm more. Too busy looking at what's in front of me. I'm going to try the HUD and shift lights.

found out this is the HARDEST SHIFT TO MAKE!!! Doing some research I've found that if you put the shifter knob in the middle of your palm it is supposed to make that shift easier.... But they say that technique still needs to be practiced....

Personally, I feel 1-2 is the most difficult. 2-3 is cake.

Agreed. 1-2 usually results in

Mostly due to the fact that the limiter is on you so fast. 1-2 seems rougher than all the others under WOT.

Stupid question.... If the car is modified and the rev limiter was moved from 6200 to 6800 RPM's... Will this affect the launch control and/or no lift shift features???

I don't know about launch control, but I have a 2012 CTS V Coupe with no lift shift, pure stock other than a tune, my rev limiter was moved to 6800 and made the car much better, I use the no-lift shift at 6600 with no problems, Made my first 5 passes this weekend (12.415, 12.379, 12.420, 12.386, and 12.439 in that order) , the last two runs were within 10 minutes of each other so I was getting a little heat-soak or the last run would have been a little quicker.

Why would you shift at 5500 to avoid the rev limiter. Might as well just go to 6000 and not use no lift shift.

I don't believe it affects anything on launch control and for no lift it would just go higher to 6800 now. All should work the same.

All this talk makes me want to go out and perfect that 2-3 shift I can't seem to pull off. Good stuff.

In the video, when the shifts are made at 45mph and 70mph, you can hear a "BRRRP" sound while the shift is made. That is the sound of NLS at work.
