I like the idea of putting your money where your mouth is. Not necessarily in this case (now if you wanted to see the judge, and you pay the same amount up front, then try to get it back from the judge - I could go along with that), but for frivilous lawsuits. For example, paying up front to cover ALL court costs (and you only get them back if you win, making the guy being sued pay for it upon his loss) will make people think twice about just dragging people into court and suing them over the least little thing. That's really the only thing holding me back from opening my own business. I couldn't afford to defend myself in court every time someone got a hair up their butt about wanting to sue over some little thing. At least until I was established.
