End of an Era (yet another one of those threads)

This was my fourth Camaro and arguably, my nicest. I put over 100,000 miles on it before I gave it to my son a couple of years ago. It was always in pristine condition except for the regular wear and tear that a daily driver would get. We put a ton of work and about $3000 into it last summer when one of the AFM lifters collapsed and scored the cam shaft. We figured if we were going into it deep enough to replace the cam shaft, we might as well go all the way and do an L99 - LS3 conversion on it. Other than the tune when we were done, we did all the work ourselves.

My son was coming back from Tulsa and hit some water, slid about 50 yards across the median and slammed front first into the concrete barriers. The force of the impact spun the car around nearly 180 degress. My son is OK and that's the most important thing but the car is a total loss.

Like you said, most importantly, your son is ok. Sorry for the loss of your ride though.

Man I sorry to hear that but I'm glad your son is ok. I know some people say it's just a car but I don't think that's the full story for some of us. I got into a wreck last year and it hit me kind of hard. So I went out and bought the exact same car.

Another BEAST story of a Camaro vs (insert immovable object here) and its occupants are thankfully just fine! But sorry the Camaro was the sacrificial lamb.
