MRC Rocking when overtaking
Hi,
I have a 2016 Camaro 2SS V8 MT with MRC. When downshifting and overtaking, the car starts to shake. The MRC was also recalibrated, this may be a skeptical feeling, but it seems to be better, but not good. Has anyone had such a problem and how to solve it? |

You or a mechanic needs to check all 4 MRC struts for leaks, unfortunately several members here saw them go bad after 5-6 years. In one case they collapsed completely, leading to an extremely bumpy ride.

Thanks. If there was a shock absorber leak, wouldn't the "MRC service" error be displayed? |

Sorry guys, I don't know if a code is set in that case. I also feel that it will, but someone who actually had an MRC shock fail should be able to tell us.

I haven't had a MRC shock leak or go bad but the "service suspension" will come up on on the dash, no computer fault code, if the sensor if any of the wheels becomes disconnected. The ride will be very bumpy and choppy and you'll know that there's a problem. My 23 had become disconnected on the RR and it was as simple as reconnecting the arm on the sensor.

On my car it was the arm of the sensor becoming disconnected from the control arm not a cable or wiring.

I had a sticking/notchy front strut and a slightly leaking rear, but the real problem with the rear was a torn lower bushing (causing a clunking noise) that they don't sell replacements for so you have to replace the whole shock. No warning lights or codes were set, just a noisy stiffer than normal ride.
