Looking to add dual mode exhaust through dealer, quesitons.

I recently ordered a Camaro with a v6 and choose to keep the stock exhaust. After some thought I want to upgrade to the v6 dual mode exhaust through the dealer, but I am having no luck finding the dual mode on the chevy website or anywhere else? What is the process to have the dealer add it to the car and where can I find the exhaust to order to the dealer? Thanks![/SIZE]

I dont think you can make changes after the order has been accepted.

Also the NPP exhaust can't be retrofitted if its not already on the car. Best you can do is wait for the muffler to be on sale on the forums form another user and have an exhaust shop weld it in. The functionality won't be there(stealth mode, track mode etc.) but at least it'll be louder. Or get to a Mild 2 wild. You'd also the bottom rear bumper piece as well.

Your can order something like the Borla axelback sold through GM accessories. And have the dealer put it on.

As long as the order hasn’t been accepted then as long as it’s a factory option you can add it on. But if you can’t add it as an option onto your order at this point then you probably will need to look at aftermarket options later on. You can’t just buy a Dual Mode Exhaust kit from Chevrolet Accessories and have the dealer install later. I think in your case you could probably find nice aftermarket exhaust that would be nice if adding the Dual Mode option to your order isn’t possible.

Sorry its GM performance Dual exit exhaust. Its at the bottom of the exterior options on the build and price tool. I believe its a rebrand of Borla.

This is the polished tip version. There's another one for 100 less

That would look nice. Probably sound better too. It's not the same as NPP though, just looks similar.

As BluePhoenix said, the dual exhaust upgrade needs to be added on at the assembly line. This is due to wiring that the valves need to open and close for the driver to adjust the exhaust noise from the touchscreen inside the cabin. It is not an option the dealership can add after the car has been built. That being said, there are many aftermarket exhaust options available for the Camaro, in all of its trims, that do not require the wiring for electronically controlled exhaust. Also, putting any of these on should not void your warranty. It would only void the car's warranty if something on your car breaks and the aftermarket part, or modification, was the reason for the damage.

I had the GM Performance Exhaust added to my car this past spring. More bark on cold start, throatier tone overall, and a little louder. It's a Borla S-Type in a Bowtie.

For me the intake sound is good enough. If I wanted more I would get mbrp axel back.

It's pretty minor. If I'm on the highway, sixth gear, climbing a grade at 65-70, there's a bit of low frequency drone. Generally, though, it isn't really noticeable.

I believe other's are correct as they mentioned cannot be added later on. I would rather recommend throwing in a lil extra $$ and getting Borla/corsa systems. Well worth the price!

GM has or had another performance exhaust in addition to the NPP.
