How much does your car weigh? My car is 250 pounds heavier than the ZL1Atlanta. I like to eat!

Spark ramp plays a huge part in getting the launch down with these cars, especially in first gear. I've done several other things since then and I think they all contribute to where we are now. Things like solid cradle and diff bushings, removing or disconnecting the front sway bar, and getting the air pressure right. With the 17's I had the best luck when the track could hold 18 psi, but would usually start at 15.5 and go up if I could.

It was 4,180 with me in it when I was on the 17's.

Did it run in the 8's on the 17's?

Your car is quite impressive to say the least! Great Job!

Thanks! It did not, it only made 990 when I swapped to 15's, so not quite enough power at full weight. It ran a 9.40 on 17's when it made 920. We've learned a lot since then to where I think it could have done 9.20's on that setup, but I don't sit still for long. Lol

Gotcha! That's great! I don't like to sit still either! Funds force me too! lol

Takes seat tome with these cars so it seems and I don't get enough!

#5 on the top 20!

Lots of seat time with logging/adjustments are a huge part for sure. Back when I had the 17’s I would drive 3.5 hours each way to the track to test and log. Sometimes twice a week.

Hope to jump a spot or two after this weekend! Haha

Not sure but I’m a full weight 2SS…and I’m not skinny either. And I just added about 80 pounds of ice tank & water in the back, plus a roll bar too.

Funny, @KingLT1 and I have been working on my tune this past week with this particular thought regarding the timing in mind. We’re going to tame it down below 3000 and ramp it up from there in hopes of giving my tires a better chance at hooking up. I have BMR diff and cradle lockout bushings already, so good there. I had been starting at 18 psi but suspect pressure was going up a pound to two after the burnout, so I’m thinking 16-16.5 that way I’m up to 18 *after* the burnout.

Another interesting idea! I have not tried that. Thanks a ton @ZL1Atlanta! So much good info.

We were at 18 and could only hook the car on the first pass. Mike pulled timing after the 3rd run but we never got to make another pass. Not sure if he pulled to much but we can put more back in on the launch when we run next month on the 15th of October.

So the 15” beadlocks I ordered back on February 1st finally arrived…! If anyone is questioning the upgrade over 17’s, these pics should put that to rest! The 325/50/15 setup is some serious beef!

I have a perfect alignment and a crap ton of BMR upgrades too. Plenty of weight over the rear tires… roll bar, full tank of fuel, and big ass ice tank out back. Running skinnies up front as well.

Don’t get me wrong, my 60’ times aren’t terrible (best of 1.47, average of 1.5/1.6), but they’re holding me back from getting into the low 9’s. And, my local track doesn’t exactly kill it on the track prep too. It’s a pretty low dollar operation. The people are nice, but if the track prep is anything like the bathroom maintenance…. So, I suppose this could be a track issue as much as an issue with my setup. Car trapped 148 last run out, so the power is there in my humble opinion.

So, am I at the point where I *need* to do a 15” conversion? Is that how you get down to 1.2 60’ times? Or is the suspension more important (coilovers)? I’m not sure how many 8 or low-9 second guys are on this board, but appreciate any advice or thoughts from the Forced Induction squad.
When the car and the scan data tell you that you're spinning the tires on the hit and/or down low, or on the 2/3 or 3/4 shifts as mine did. My 305/45/17 ET Street R weren't enough up here much less at Topeka or Vegas, and they might not hold yours.
