MIne did just show up in between the last two ETA's, my ETA I think flexed 5(?) times. If it was to be believed my person was watching it to the extent he told me it was still in LGR, had not left, etc etc and was giving me ETA's that were consistent with what I'd get in the order status thread.

Maybe you just got lucky, it's absolutely a different experience from the Corvette's, Ive heard that a number of times but they tend to want to hand massage their customers ordering experience

So the current salesman called me and the car arrived late yesterday. I don't know what to think. Maybe they are short staffed and doing the best they can or maybe as was just said GM is the culprit by not informing their dealers what the heck is going on. I had such a complete different experience with my Corvette that maybe I expected too much?
I was thinking more along the lines of a random forum member calling to see if the car was considered open for sale at a negotiable price, or was reported as being already sold to you.

Few wks ago I was up in Lansing by the plant and there was a ton of built cars (for as far as I could see). I had heard many were waiting steering wheels/airbags

Hmm i just posted a new thread asking who the new contact (if any) at JM Chevy might be and if they are selling to forum members at MSRP, but after reading this i guess I'll move on and check around local to me.

I ordered mine through a local dealership. The price was agreed upon at MSRP with no add on's. This was in writing. When I requested updates they either had no response or wrong information. Lucky Joe was able to keep me updated. Joe let me know when it arrived at dealership, I called dealership and they had no idea (or chose not to tell me) when it was delivered.

I actually saw they had car for sale on their website a couple of days later, just before they called me to tell me that it arrived. When I arrived they had added $2,500 plus of add on's. Long story short, I fought with them, pushed back on all their add-on's & fees and finally got the car as agreed upon.

The dealership took all the fun out of buying my "fun" car.

I won't buy a car in person like that unless I'm damn sure I can get the agreed price, if it's car on the lot, I can probably work that, but I rarely buy a car on the lot because I want the car the way I want it, so I usually order. When ordering, go through Costco or have someone like the credit union negotiate the price (many offer to do this and I did it before).

The sad state of affairs for salesman is this is like restaurant servers where they are paid a miserable wage and expected to make up the rest with tips. In this case, the more the extort someone, the more they take home.
