oil level / top off
i only put about 1,700 miles since my last change.. but the oil level was at 2%
so i decided to top it off with 4 quarts in the meantime BUT the oil level didn't change at all.. noob here.. something i'm doing wrong?

Do you mean the oil life monitor was at 2%? If so, that has nothing to do with the oil level. Did you check the oil level before and after adding oil?

the oil life monitor is based on usage + time. i'm guessing you're coming up on a year, which means you should change it anyways.

This is the craziest post I've ever read here. Either your oil was incredibly low before or it's about to overflow now.
I would suggest taking your car to a shop to do this for you. |
