As far as ‘buying the wrong car’ comments, GM did not make available the fact that these struts are only good for 1000 miles, nor did they let me drift the car into a bumpy corner at 100mph at full throttle, so those comments are pretty dumb.[/QUOTE]

Ok fair enough. Mine and many others have lasted far longer than 1000 miles but I understand what your saying. I wouldn’t be happy about it.

Anyhow. I’m sure you’ve probably read about the BC racing coil overs.
But may wanna also look into Viking. I’m pretty positive they are working on a system for our cars.
May wanna also reach out to Multimatic too.
Anyhow good luck and hope it works out. 🍻

A couple of things OP.

1. If you have won "big events" and I'll assume you have for the benefit of the doubt etc. I would also assume you've been around awhile and have a hard time believing you need to start a thread to find out the best shock options. It's usually the same names that people have been throwing out in this thread and are well known companies.

2. If you are constantly tracking the car at that level of course things are going to wear out a lot faster. I thought I had read in the recent past that part of the beauty of the multimatic shocks was their simplicity and easy rebuild.

So with those things in mind (plus your general attitude) it comes across as trolling, especially from a member that has very few posts.

Any way, good luck with your search.

Yes mine won’t do it sitting still only sometimes when driving and seems like I’m turning and maybe going over uneven or a bump, mines the front drivers side

Thanks for great responses. I’ve been getting slow or no response from some of the shock makers, and GM, so I’m figured I’d reach out here first. Also, GM is taking forever to send replacements and I don’t want the downtime.

I would like some more info on bc. Never heard of them.

Not trolling. Maybe I come across less ‘nice’ than I should. I’ll think about that. That said there are some great responses now which I appreciate, but before that I’ve generally been surprised the tone and content here...

I had a similar sound on my GT350 and it ended up being a loose sway bar link IIRC.

I hear the Porsche GT cars have the best factory damping out there.

All reviews I have ever seen on them say the same thing, they are compliant, yet VERY controlled and confidence inspiring.

Maybe you need to trade up to a P - GT car???

I’m not some noob and I am not hating on the car. I love the car.

But I’m 2800 miles in and 2 strut failures already. My friend who tracks his car extensively is on I think his 4th strut.

So even if they were fast I’d be looking for better alternatives.

However, this thing is radically stiffer than my race car, it has way too much compression stiffness, and cornering speeds are significantly better in non zl1 Camaros with much softer shocks in many corners - per data.

GM does a lot of things well. It does not always release perfect stuff.

Ps - I missed a constructive post - sorry for that.

Anyway any info on shock alternatives is welcome.

Don’t the mag ride shocks require wiring and a module? I don’t think that’s a viable option.

Still need camber too, so it may be aftermarket only options.
Contact Detroid Speed, they have already improved the suspension on some ZL1 1LE's, might be what you're looking for.

KW suspension (German manufacturer) is also a very good option and they will basically build you whatever you like. Most of the semi professional race cars in Europe run KW. They are reasonably priced, relatively reliable and KW will work with you. I would suggest you contact their headquarter in Germany directly.

There isn't a ton available for the 6th gen. Try reaching out to Phoenix Racing and see what they ran on their T2 6th gen.

Maybe I'm lucky to have good tracks around here, but I have yet to experience the car being over-damped on the track. Sonoma/Laguna both have a fairly good surface, though. I'm at probably 4k track miles and (minus one warranty replacement) they are still going strong for me.
