Differential Fluid Change Requirements for V6 1LE

Just trying to what the diff fluid change requirements are for the V6 1LE

Same fluid as the SS 1LE?

Required to be changed before track use? Otherwise what is the change frequency requirement?

Thanks for the help

1.2 Quarts (1.1L) of Dexron LS Gear Oil (GM Part No. 88862624, in Canada 88862625).

Same fluid as the standard SS rear axle. The SS 1LE and ZL1 have an eLSD that takes different fluid + an additive.

Standard maintenance interval in owners manual assuming normal use is 45K miles. I changed diff fluid at 13K which is when I bought my V6 1LE and it came out black. Changed again after 1 year and 7 track days and it came out looking like new. I'll probably change it every 2 years/12 track days going forward. If you are worried change it every year since it's cheap and easy.

Thanks for the help - exactly what I was looking for, especially helpful with your track experience
I think I’ll do the change even though it has low miles - bought the car used.

The eLSD-equipped cars take the same diff fluid, too, with no additive. You'll note on the bottle that it says there is friction modifier already in that fluid. There's nothing exotic about the eLSD friction clutch parts. From the Factory Service Manual:
