Do those Borla crate mufflers have any packing inside or are they like resonators?

She sounds REALLY good, have the same magnaflow that I still need to get welded in. Where did you put yours?

Thanks @Evansa22! I’ve got it at the back of the driveshaft tunnel as I didn’t like all of the cuts & bends I saw on other installs. I did have to have the muffler “clearanced” a bit to clear my bigger driveshaft but love how it came out.

Edit: Crap, not sure why the top pic is upside down lol

I installed mine at the front of the tunnel, right after the secondary cat pipes, and before the AWE X-Pipe.

Not sure but I do know it sounds a shit load better!! Headers and no cats with stock muffler is tinny sounding. He added the Borla resonators and it completely removed the tinny/rattle sound in the muffler and added depth. Huge improvement!

There is a metal screen around the walls of the muffler. They are a bullet style straight through muffler is what I would call them.

Yea, just trying to figure out if there's packing between the perforated screen and the outer shell. A resonator has no packing, a muffler does.

Don’t remember seeing anything when I briefly looked inside and it didn’t look like there was enough room between the metal screen and the wall of the muffler to be any packing. They look very similar to me as the kooks bullet mufflers they use in some of their exhaust systems. Like the ones on my 96’ Camaro.

Yea, I have a feeling they're just resonators. SLP Loudmouth 2 has a 3" inlet/outlet and 4" diameter body but it shrinks down to 2.5" internally for the packing inside.

Many have asked and the exact muffler I used was 12599, FYI.
