When it drops under 10% I start planning to change it in a weekend or two. 10% comes a lot faster when you run E60+.

Given the weather in my area, I doubt I'll drive it enough to get close to the oil change internal, so my plan is to change it yearly before I put it away for the winter.

I was told every 2K miles running running E60, which for me... is about once every 10 months or so.

I changed mine right when I parked it for the winter, curious to see what it shows after 6 months of storage.

I'm planning on doing mine twice a year regardless of miles or oil life %. I changed it yesterday before firing it up for the first time this year and I'll probably do it again mid summer. Considering I drive it about 6,000 miles a year it should be about every 3,000 miles. It might be a little more than necessary but its relatively cheap and easy maintenance to make sure I keep the engine running smoothly.

between 2500 - 5000 miles. Depending on how aggressive I drove since last oil change. Oil degrades quick at 270°F.

I do mine yearly around August/September time frame since I put it away for the winter from October-May each year. I only put 328 miles on it last year and only have a total of 763 miles on the car, but was TOLD I should AT LEAST change the oil yearly even though I don't drive it more than 1,000 miles per year since the oil viscosity can still break down over a TIME period? Maybe I don't NEED to?, but better safe than sorry I guess.
Just trying to figure out now if I should do the diff fluid at 1,000 or if I'd be good to wait until 1,500???, which could be 3 years from now!

I follow the oil life monitor in all of my gm cars.
So usually I make an appt at about 10%. Back when I had a new 4th gen ls1 camaro I had blackstone labs do an oil analysis. Their recommended intervals were dead on with what the gm ecu was telling me. Have things changed? Maybe. But even expensive oil changes are cheap in the long run. |

I have a couple of cars that only get driven hundreds of miles (or less) per year and I religiously change the oil once a year, preferably in the fall before they are put away for the winter. You don't want to store a car for months during the winter with dirty engine oil in it. |
