Trading in 2016 SS for ZL1 - Anyone done this?
I currently have a 2SS 6sp manual Vert and thinking about moving to the ZL1 vert. Anyone move from the SS to the ZL1, if so was it worth the extra money or after the newness wore off you were just as happy with you SS?

No personal experience here but from what I've seen on here and and from a co-workers experience, You will take a huge hit if your trading in.
Also, its a whole different animal going to a zl1. Another 200hp makes for alot more fun |

Yeah, car purchases are rarely logical purchases, but I could never justify trading in a car that soon. I'd personally just wait for the mid-cycle refresh at this point.
If you can sell it privately and not lose money, go for it. |

I purchased a new 2014 2SS/RS vert. I went back in 11 months with the thought of trading it in on a new Corvette. The salesman said he would give me 25 grand for the Camaro towards the new corvette. That was less than half. I told him where to put the Corvette and left. I'm glad I did because now I am going to buy a 2017 ZL1 and keep the SS. I will be going to a different dealer.

Try somewhere else! Trade offers can vary greatly between dealers. My friend just traded his 16' 1SS auto for a new 17' 1LE and got $30500 for his 1SS. He actually bought the 1SS slightly used/certified (900 miles) for 31400 OTD a few months ago. I have nothiced less option base model cars generally seem to do better in trade and not lose as much value for some reason.

so, that 1 year car rental would cost $30,000?
I think there are a few exotic car lease places where people with that kind of itch can do much better.

So to be clear I am leasing my 2016 and someone is going to assume the lease. The ZL1 I am going to lease as well but it is another $80 a month. I am very happy with my SS but not sure if I would ever be able to the power any more then my SS. I love the vert, but really want to start going back to the track but no one will allow the verts to run.
