Wrong seats in the car anyway, they are not recaros. Neat that it was far away from prying eyes around Michigan. I like they all have they same roof antennaes, obviously they are a group and GM directly targetted the Hellcat.

Camo one also has 1LE wheels. Not ZL1 wheels, even though the hood is a ZL - but it's missing the wing.
And.. that front left wheel has some gnarly road rash on it.. Those are probably SS seats and taped up to cover the SS badge that's on them. |

This part of the front end looks different to me compared to the camo car as well. That's why I guessed it was an earlier version of the car.

The camo one could be a powertrain mule as well for the Z/whatever and there was just no reason for them to pull the camo off if it's just going to be crushed. Why spend the man hours to uncover it only to destroy it at some point?

Is it possible that the camo car is just a 1LE? I don't think any of those have been seen thus far driving around without camo.

It has the ZL1 hood, fenders, front fascia, rear fascia and sideskirts. I suppose it ~could~ be, but that's a lot of work to throw 1LE bits on a ZL body since a 1LE is just a track-prepped SS and there's plenty of SS shells to have for testing.

With the Camaro's sitting next to the Hellcat, it shows how plain looking the Hellcat really is.

Just wanted to answer a few questions:
1. I looked back and the date I took the pictures was 8/3/16, so not quite a month ago. 2. The seats are full leather. Also, if you look closely, you will see that the seats have white stitching while the other areas have red stitching. 3. I noticed a few of the ZL1 add ons were not on this camo car such as spoiler, and it also appears that the aggressive side skirts are not on the camo car. 4. So I guess that is a fully uncovered ZL1 beside the camo car! I felt so stupid when I got home and looked at the pictures and realized that. I was just so excited to see the camo car that I didn't pay enough attention to the one sitting beside it! |

Also the brakes on the camo car are massive as you can see in the picture. I am not sure, but I don't think brakes that large are available on the 1LE?

I did find it interesting that these cars were obviously testing long distances on the interstate and they chose the Hellcat as the car to compare/benchmark. |

That supports the SS seat swap in as the Recaros may not have been available yet when this particular one was constructed.
