I followed procedure to the letter...except for 2 times I strayed. One time was an accident. These cars get in boost soo fast and accelerate soo quickly that I was going about 10 MPH over the recommended speed for a few seconds. The second time was around 1200 miles when I came across a SRT8 Challenger. I couldn't let him walk off with a win and then go bragging about how he beat a new (at the time) ZL1. LOL! So I went WOT. I felt bad but it was ok. And I wouldn't have done it if I wasn't as close to 1500 miles as I was.

I just hit 540 miles, I should be calling the dealer for an oil change? Is it included with the new car purchase? Or is the free oil change dealer specific. As difficult as it may be , I have kept the vehicle under 4000 rpms. Though I can’t wait to open it up. I just use it as a nice day driver so I don’t plan to hit the track.

Yep 2 free oil changes. Ask your dealer if you can get the new Mobile 1 ESP 0-40 Dexos 2. If not, Mobile 5-30 or similar will be fine.

Where exactly does it say that the first oil change is free? I picked up my 2018 ZL1 A10 last week and no one said anything about free oil changes.

Thanks!

Does this Chevy Track Prep say change oil at 500 and 1500 but not to race till 1500. Why change oil at 500 then?

The 1500 is only for breaking in the rear diff. The oil and diff changes still should be done due to the high amounts of break in shards and metals. That's just my opinion though.

This 500/1500 baffles me, what’s so different about this motor than nearly every other new motor out there these days ? While I’m unsure of all break in specs for all new vehicles, most just say to not go hard or run at the same speed for extended periods I’ve r1k of driving. My 18’ Raptor is a HP motor and has no special requirements other than the above stated and it’s first oil change was supposed to be at 10k miles ! I did it at 5k just to be safe but the dealer gave me a hard time about it.
While I’m sure there is some small amount of fine metal debris from break in, that’s what the filter is for, again, why what seems to be excessively short first and second oil changes ?

Probably true...but, I took mine in at 500 miles anyway. It was free and took 45 minutes. Well worth the time. You also get to wander around the dealer and come up with bad ideas like buying a ZR1

You can download it from mychevrolet.com once logged in. There indeed is a separate high performance supplement, but this info is actually in the track preparation guide:
