Messed up my hood wrap... :(

Ok, I have a confession to make.
I have only a slight excuse. ( Habit )
Here's my story,
I took delivery of my new 1E. After only a few hundred pampered miles it was time for a wash and winter storage.

I've been washing only corvettes for better than twenty years.
When I'm washing I have a system.
The first thing I do is pull the wiper arms away from the windshield.
Wash the car and rinse.
My next step is to open the doors, lift the hood and trunk.
Now I walk around with a leaf blower, dry the car and all the crevices.
Do you see where I just messed up with the 1LE?
With a Corvette the Hood opens at the Windshield end.
Yep, I wasn't thinking of the wipers pulled back from the windshield.
When I lifted the hood I heard a loud bang.
The wiper arms slamming back to the windshield.
I come around and sure enough.
The vinyl is damaged directly at the back of the hood where it made contact with the wiper arms.
Scuffed off down to the paint.
Two spots, right on the edge of the hood about 1/2 wide.
Ok, now for the best part.
I didn't know the hood was vinyl wrapped until I joined this forum.
Thinking I scuffed black paint, I went ahead and touched up those two areas with paint.
I used semi flat black paint used for nicks on aluminum rifle scopes.
The area is still noticeable by me because I know it's there.
Any recommendations?
Would you guys go for a new wrap?
Live with it?
I'm also thinking I could go on amazon and order some flexible door edge molding about .25 wide.
Run it the full length of the back of the hood.
Sucks,,, I had my Vette for six years and it left without one scratch.

I'm pretty sure when reading the manual it stated to phone the 800 number listed.
A 3M number to be forwarded to an authorized dealer wrap seller/installer in your area.
Is this the preferred course of action?
Are these wraps pretty much new to the market?
Reason being, I first e-mailed a friend who was a body shop manager for better than a dozen years.
He had no clue as to what I was talking about. I had to send him a link to a vinyl wrap YouTube video.
Afterwards, I phoned Chevy where I purchased the Camaro and spoke with their body shop.
The tech said he would get back to me by phone. He had to phone GM to find out why there was no paint code listed for the flat black hood on the 1LE.
He phoned me back stating he was told the hood has a ' decal ' on it and it's about three hundred bucks.
I was looking for a Xanax afterwards, but then remembered I didn't have a prescription.

If you want to get the GM wrap, it’s a matte vinyl that long term gets holds dirt and can get splotchy. However a satin wrap will not do that as much and will last longer. 3m 1080 is the film you want to use, and is available at any wrap shop. This will not be warranty so it doesn’t matter where you buy it.

And no , wrap is not new, and there is nothing special about the wrap the GM used.

You can see hundreds of types here : metrorestyling.com

I just had mine redone in satin 3m 1080 as Glen recommended....all I can say is it was previously re wrapped and the Avery film the installer used was horrible and had several chips through to the paint within a week. Highly recommend avoiding avery lol.....another member in here recommended a new wrap or PPF called Stek Dynomat. Looks very promising but have no personal experience with it. Had I known about that product a week ago I would have tried that over the 3M.

Is the paint under the wrap finished properly? If so, I'd remove it anyway.

We all have made some sort of mistake with vehicles at some point, hope you get your car back to a no damage state.

That happened on my '15 1LE...it was only 1 spot and not very big...I used plasti-dip. yes I know it was there, but if the wrap ever needed to come off; so would the plasti-dip.
