UPDATE


So I ended up ordering ATOPLITE brand from Amazon, and GM OEM to do a little comparison of them.

I have been looking as well. I was told by one official GM parts store that GM has discontinued this set. :(

Correct. Which was why the prices increased at places like phasetek.

I had the ATOPLITE on my 2017. They were made very well! The only noticeable difference was they were not quite as bright as the OEM. Did not bother me one bit and I am EXTREMELY picky.

I dont. Without sitting side by side with OEM ones, you would never even think there was a difference. At 1/2 the price of OEM, and Amazon return policy, I took a chance with the idea I can return if I didnt like them. Never had to.

That’s true for sure and sometimes it’s hard to get beyond the costs. However, since the lights are in demand, inventories will diminish and prices may increase. Last year when I noticed these lights going out of stock at the various vendors, I had to make a decision. Get the GM lights I wanted or wait for a great sale. As the days and weeks passed, the sale wasn’t coming and stock was getting low again. Finally I decided to just pay the price and get the lights. At the time it was more money than budgeted, but almost a year later i have no regrets.

wonder how hard or how it would like just putting tint film on these tail lights like i did my 5th gen.

Hope these aren't actually discontinued and we are only seeing some lasting aftermath from the strike... what if someone needs new taillights for a 2018 1LE? (Or, of course, what if I need a replacement, heh.) Manufacturers can't simply discontinue parts less than 2 years after model production ends.

I hope they’re not going to discontinue them anytime soon. I recall reading posts on here that implied these lights being discontinued. Fact or fiction? IDK. But seriously, that’s why I jumped on them last year when I saw there was stock. Actually it took two vendors to get the tail lights and the third brake light.

Is there a specified amount of time the manufacturer has to support these products?
