Where did you purchase them so I can do some window shopping?

So new stock LT4 heads are not recommended for say a 20-22 lbs weekend driver? Are PRC aftermarket ok? They are priced pretty decent I see. Less concerned about flow as I'm doing twins.

LT4 heads are for sure better then LT1. They are rotocast aluminum which is stronger and also have stronger titanium intake valves. I also believe they seem to have less core shift issues but I will admit I haven't really seen a lot of info posted about using them as a upgrade for LT1 cars. Part of that could be due to the different intake bolt pattern.

Katech called letting me know they have to add additional options to my purchase like valve seals and valve reconditioning which is:

-Wire wheel valves
-Polish valve stems
-Measure valve guides
-Machine valve face

The katech head job is now up to $650.

I received the motion race works catch can, valve cover breathers and oil scavenge pump. I tore down and cleaned the VR1100 to a short block. This thing looks beautiful. I keep looking at this VR1000 cam and telling myself to sell it to someone with a procharger and buy a custom turbo cam. When cleaning the oil pan, I found something interesting about my oil return set up. I'll get some pics when I get back in the garage to help explain it.

Turbo oil return into the pan update.

Found it, its for a ctsv pcv system. I wonder how its hooked up from the factory. Almost like constant drain for a catch can

DISCLAIMER: There is a known issue with factory GM LT cylinder head castings causing the factory valve seats to fall out. A valve seat failure will result in a damaged head and possibly a catastrophic, irreparable engine failure. It is common enough to warrant discretion when using factory GM LT cylinder head castings. Texas Speed and Performance assumes no liability in regards to this issue since it is a factory defect. Due to this, we highly recommend purchasing a set of our aftermarket LTx cylinder heads.

Yeah this isn't what I want to see with my car about to go in for a tune with twin turbos on stock heads.

And then you have some broken exhaust valves like I had that took out my motor. I am hoping the 5.3 heads do not have the same issues. If I was doing an lt I would either do a set of stock lt4 heads or some aftermarket heads.

LT4 heads would be great but I bought an intake for port injection and it is an LT1 intake. I need to look into the cheapest set of aftermarket LT1 heads with stronger valves.

I’ve had good luck with my Mast Black Label LT1 heads so far. Didn’t get a chance to push them much this year (99 lbs/min MAF) and ran out of fuel, but will probably add port injection this winter and then really give them a beating.

I believe Katech can drill them to accept a LT1 intake manifold.
