I couldn't, and eventually removed the front bumper to make room for a proper installation with my big hands.

Completed!
Hi guys! I literally JUST finished my illuminated black bowtie. Thanks for everyone's help, posts, & pics. I could not have done it without that!
Only had a couple issues... - The bending of the latch was a little nerve-wracking (I could just visualizing it snapping off). - Getting the old bowtie to "unsnap" wasn't happening, so I ground the back of the clips off with a dremel to get them to release. - Drilling the hole with the dremel wasn't as scary as the latch issue (above). - Getting to the connections for the DRL was nuts. Took off more than a little skin, but eventually got it. (Note to others: Practice clipping and unclipping with the new harness connections. It helps to know the routine, as you'll be disconnecting the DRL blindly.) That's again for such great info. It looks amazing! |

I saw someone say that the dealer took the air box out and went and did it from there. They also used the drivers side connection instead of the passenger side the factory instructions say to use.

Might be easier. There's less crap in the way over there.

Has anyone's car started making weird noises after they install the illuminated bowtie,
or is it just me? |

These are LEDs and not supposed to make any noise, the harness has no components on it that could emit noise either, are you sure this isn't something else you have just begun noticing? For example, HID headlights do whine quite audibly, which is normal.

Anyone know where to get the clip for the back of the bow tie? I have found a few without the harness but I can’t find a replacement clip for it I can make a harness if I can find it.
