Aftermarket exhaust but maintain sound management

Is there an option to keep the engine sound management (ie baffles) and get an aftermarket exhaust? I am not sure of the placement of the baffles, maybe they're in the exhaust but if not, it would be nice to be able to control the sound output. I would hate to wake the family up every day but the thought of a new exhaust sounds like a good first mod.

Thanks

Borla, Stainless Works, and a few others like GT Haus.

Of them all I'd go with Borla.

Flowmaster has an NPP axle back with an Oulaw and Delta 40 on each side.

Cutouts, I recently got mine and put them right before the npp exhaust.
They're amazing when you need them open and quiet when closed.

I got some from Amazon which they sell from their warehouse, they were like $120 with wired remote .

Wiring is super easy, no issue at all and they have a cigarette lighter option for power. You don't have to leave them plugged in as they stay open or closed or partial.

Just my work around.

Exhaust

I went with the Hooker Black Heart System. It installs in front of the stock crushed pipes under the rear axle. It is very loud at start-up even in the closed position. I like the popping noise it make when you let off the throttle. Go LOUD and piss off the neighbors.

Been pleased with the Borla ATAK on our Yellow SS. If you recall, phastek did Jeremy W. car last year grey Zl1 it wasn't loud enough for him and it had drone(Stainless Works).. you will see several post on Stainless Works for drone. Even though kits for the SS and ZL1 will fit companies that share part numbers for either model do not do the extensive testing like Borla does and, drone may appear.

I'm not a fan of Flowmaster sounds like a boat muffler at idle in water.

Corsa would be my choice if it had baffles and was Carbon fiber but running full headers forget it!

I will be running carbon fiber ATAK when available I was hoping to show it of at Cfest for Borla!

Talk to phastek like Ricardo no one else he's knowledgeable the most.. there shop car sounds good not sure if it has the baffles though.

I swear sometimes I read your posts and I have no idea what the hell you’re talking about...take more time when you write or something.

I think what your post means is Borla ATAK is your suggestion?

Hooker Black Heart NPP system cat back.
Outside tips are straight pipes. They do not send exhaust through the muffler. Louder than OEM muffler.
Stays under the 98db limit at the local track.

I put the borla atak npp catback on my SS, wired in a remote control to the fuse so it’s easy to close before startup. It sounds amazing and is what I’d consider reasonable with the valves closed in the morning. Looks amazing with the carbon fiber tips too....

So was Jeremy's car with Borla that droned or Stainless Works? It's impossible to decipher from your cryptic writings.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I have a new ZL1 and it's nice to have the baffles because of the fam. Wasn't sure companies were making exhaust with the npp but nice to know they are. Like all things on the ZL1, it's nice to turn things off and on when needed and be able to customize right from the settings. I'm anxious to get to the track and run through the settings and see how the car responds with suspension and steering.
