American authority zl1 front bumper - Page 6

I didn't get a response to my last post, so I ordered the Styrofoam adsorber and cover for said absorber for a ZL1 today. The molded plastic absorber that mounts behind those 2 is the same for all trim lines so I will reuse that from my LT bumper. I will report back if it all fits under the AA bumper after they arrive. I still have yet to mount my painted bumper because I don't want to keep taking it off lol.

Sorry for lack of response. I was actually trying to dig this info up to share, but there is none. I'm heavily interested in what you find out.

My order shipped on the 21st and was immediately delayed due to blizzard conditions on the east coast. It shipped from RI. Tracking today shows it is 3.5 hours away but won't be delivered until Monday. And since I work nights, UPS usually doesn't deliver until I am just about to leave for work, so I won't be able to test fit until Tuesday. Ugh.

My parts are in and I put the absorber and its cover on.....and there is a clearance issue with the grille and the absorber. The circles show what is hitting keeping me from getting the bumper on all the way. I will either grind the grille down and check fit or I will relieve the absorber in those 2 spots on each side (third grille rib will clear under the absorber)...I'm leaning towards relieving the absorber because the grille will be real thin in those spots trying to shave a half inch or more off and I could see it snapping.

We added the American Authority foam insert to mine last week; in order to sit flush against the crash beam we had to cut a small notch in each side. Looks great and is a tighter fit!

I believe IKON has gone out of business. I've tried calling them for just over 2wks now and there is no response by phone. Their VM outgoing msg says the mailbox is full. They are not being responsive to website direct messages as well. Short of flying to Socal which I did 3wks ago, I could have gone to Industrial City, CA and knocked on their door.
I hope this is not the case as I want their version of this bumper cover but it looks like it may be true. I know 2 people who have ordered from them in the past couple of months they've had no luck in contacting them for me as well.
The IKON is not as pointed or sharp as the AA in my opinion. This really sucks as I have the vertical lights as of today.

IKON has their offering on EBay, which when I spoke to them after my initial post they said to check there for purchase. I have mine at the shop for prep, gelcoat and priming.

Not sure which bumper you are in the market for, but that is not the American Authority V2 (or even V1) bumper. Looks to be IKON possibly.
