Vitesse Throttle Controller Worth It?
So, does it worth $179? Reliability?
Any other brands out there? Any of you guys have this on your daily driven Camaro? Will this make any big differences on a 4Cyl.? Item's link: http://www.vitesse-motorsports.com/t...016+camaro.htm Last edited by InitiaL-T; 05-17-2017 at 10:56 PM. |

For me, it was 100% worth the price. Works Great!

Not worth it.
Looks like they added a fancy knob instead of just buttons now.

I agree, had it for months, once I got used to the car, its not needed. But if you want one that bad, I still have it sitting in a box downstairs.

I just put the JMS PedalMax in my 3.6 last week. TOTALLY WORTH IT!! It's a knob of fun is my best description. Removed the pedal lag and really makes the car snap. I daily drive it set to 25-30% then hit 60-70% for when I need a little stress relief. I do not know about the V unit but I can tell you the JMS is solid American made and it shows. hit up my main man DynoSteve over at RDP (vendor section). Not sure if he carries V but if he does he will have the best price for sure.

I have one and I say it is worth the price but it only masks the issue at hand and does not resolve it. The dead zone of the pedal is still there but if you set the sensitivity to 5 or higher it makes the car feel more responsive. As other members have stated though you can just train your foot to get the same results. I say it is a good modification but ultimately I think I'll get a tune to resolve the issue for good.

Have one in my C7 and yeah, I'd consider it "worth it". I do DD my car, too. I have mine on SP5, but I agree with most when they say "a tune can do more to fix those issues". YMMV.

From the feedback I've read on here, and owning one for at least 6 months, it's a worthy investment for the I4 and V6 crowd. Most V8 owners don't see the benefit from it. That's at least what I've found to be true.

Didn't this thing cause some screw up and GM had to issue a TSB regarding it?

Don't really ever see it mentioned on here but there is also one called a Pedal Commander. I got one for my Canyon and it is great. They are not cheap though, about $300.00. I had a coupon code that knocked off 30 bucks but it is still kind of steep. It was worth it for the truck, I can't justify one for the Camaro because the lag is not nearly as bad.

It's a great addition if you're looking for a little better tip in response without tuning the car and risking warranty issues.
While I can't speak for the Gen6 (yet), I do know that in my Gen5 LS3, the factory fuel tables are such that rolling off a light, or getting on the highway, there is a tremendous lag until I get to around 50% throttle, then the car seems to want to take off, which is not always a good thing in certain situations. The throttle controller seems to give me a little more graduation in those situations. Of course, my car doesn't have sport or track modes that change throttle response. |

From an engineering POV it's a pretty simple device that just changes the scale of the voltage signal to the TPS (or where ever takes the gas pedal signal)
