Which Tires for Roll Racing

Hey Guys,
Currently have stock 20” wheels wrapped in fresh Toyo R888r all around (work great, but still spin on most second gear rolls). Also just purchased MT ET Street Rs as well for my 17” drag setup. Going to be hitting Mexico soon along with some 1/2 mile racing, curious to know if the Mickey Thompsons would be stable at higher speeds (160 ish for a short duration.) Thanks!

Hot MT's are great for launching, one of the best, but they can feel a little 'floaty' at high speeds, which can be a little unnerving.

Interesting never had a problem holding second gear with r888r with similar power levels to your car. You have psi set correctly at 28-29 cold in the rear? Only time I spin is below 50 degree weather and that was more of a quick spin then grip. MT’s will hold the power well, but need some heat and you will lose all handling you are used to. Car will become one dimensional. Above 80mph will feel completely different. Very loose, like driving a 1978 Cadillac.

Any pics of the 17” drag setup?
Report back with how the car feels after you have tried it with the Mickey Ts.

What size R888R are you running. Will the 305/35RZ/20 fit ok without moving the wire harness, etc.?

How do you make a 700 HP (WHP?) 350R? I assume with a blower or turbo(s), but that seems like a very bad idea on a high strung, high RPM motor like that.

I've run a drag radial and a slick roll racing at Street Car Take over. I roll off in first and then shift to second and then nail it at the tree and flip it over to auto shift. Works perfect ever time. Last time I ran was last year and made it to the finals and the car started spinning the DR's pretty hard on the last pass in the finals as the track got hotter in the later rounds. So you can run either in my opinion but if your running a stock front tire you don't want to run a bias ply slick on the rear. Not good.

Roll racing on a public road I think you need the toyo's r888r if a problem arises I think you will end up with better results trying to steer clear or stop in time. Or if you see a car that you wanted to run in traffic weaving to catch them is a lot easier then on a weak sidewall tire, If its a controlled environment then the Mickeys.
