Camaro didn’t make Car & Driver’s 2019 10Best List

https://www.caranddriver.com/feature...est-cars-2019/

After 3 years on the 10Best, the Camaro has been replaced by Mustang because:

Quote:
[its] transcendent chassis failed to prop up its awful outward visibility, practicality, and looks in the face of withering 10Best competition
Thoughts?

I don't care what the editors of C/D posit about the Camaro. In my opinion, it's still a superior vehicle to the Mustang.

Agreed. It's Hyundai-esque.

I buy what I like, I don't need a magazine to tell me. As far as looks go, that is subjective and always will be. Anyone who thinks some of these "automotive journalist" aren't biased, should understand they are no different than you and I.

Practicality.

Here are some things you can get in a Mustang, whether V8 or turbo4:

All season tires
Spare tire (with base brakes)
Limited slip differential in ALL drivetrain configurations
Optional rear end ratios in ALL drivetrain configurations
A10 transmission for both engine options
No "displacement on demand"
Fog lights

I bought my 16 GT for $30,000 OTD, after BMR suspension upgrades it handles as good as a Camaro. Lowering the pony helped again, now I need struts & shock's for the spring change.

Doesnt surprise me a bit. You dont get on that list by making your car worse than the year before. The A10 was the only inprovement, but you have to drive a butt ugly car to get it. Unless you go ZL1 of course.

I have owned both and each has their strong points. While I personally feel that the Camaro has superior looks and will smoke a Mustang on and off the track.......the Mustang is easier to drive day to day for work or long trips. While you get used to the visibility in the Camaro and feel it is fine, you do not realize the difference until you drive the Camaro for a while- day to day, then the Mustang day to day. In a direct comparison the Mustang has better visibility to see- especially on the highway. I did not buy a Mustang due to this though- and it would not be a reason to change cars- it was because of the A8 shuddering issue and was my first experience with an automatic in a car and it was not a good one.
