I hate it because it's slow. For many, many years Ive been used to hopping in a car, start it, drop the parking brake and boogey on down the road. Cant do that with this car and it pisses me right off.

TC will both cut throttle and apply brakes to spinning wheels.

I haven't tried getting stuck in my car yet, so not sure how well it works... But with TC on the proper technique is to just floor it and point where you want to go, the car should manipulate both throttle and brakes to get the car moving.

I've only driven my 1LE about 12 miles total so far, but doesn't it automatically disengage?

It does, but I can feel it drag a bit. I cant imagine it's good for the e-brake to do that habitually.

Seems like mine will automatically disengage when I'm pulling forward, but not when trying to back out of the garage. Does is not disengage in reverse for some reason??

I had the option of using the "auto" feature on my Golf which would set the brake whenever you'd stop and release when taking off in 1st gear. Never used it, but thought that was a nifty feature.

What I love is how seamless having one makes the interior look. I hated the look of the handle in the new mustangs and was pleasantly surprised that GM used an electronic brake in the SS.

I despise mine as well. While I get everything Number 3 said above, I still would rather the lever I grew up with. modern cars do alot of annoying sh*t that takes getting used to. And I think alot of it is in the interest of dumbing-stuff-down for the new age of drivers. Like STOP trying to make things that do my thinking for me. pfft

I didn't like mine at all at first- was thinking why they did not put a conventional hand brake in- especially in a manual transmission car.

I have got used to it and now it does not bother me anymore. It works just fine and as already noted takes up very little room on the center console.

I don't mind it. It's a small switch thats activated with a finger, it works well and there's more space in the footwell. If this little switch bothers anyone, well damn the rest of the car must piss you off too lol.

That's part of the problem. It's too dainty of a control for the function, and like any other electric switch it only offers you the choice between all the way off and all the way on. After nine years owning the car we had that had an e-Pbrake I never came to like or even grudgingly appreciate its pushbutton operation. Used it as little as possible. That car's replacement has a proper handbrake.

As good as cars today are in some respects, they're seriously off-putting in others. To the point of insult when electronics are somehow seen as necessary in order for the driver to set his car's parking brake.

The car also seems to move slightly after putting the trans in park, setting the e-brake, turning the car off and then taking my foot off the brake pedal. Seems I'm the only one with this complaint (no other posts) so maybe mine needs to be serviced. Also, does anyone know if the e-brake take up point or clamping strength is adjustable?
I'm not crazy about it either. Few peeples are. But it does give more cockpit space.
