Ordering New

I have been searching for a used ZL1 for some time and for the last few months have added new to my search. I have a good understanding of what a good deal is for cars sitting on a dealer lot. Wondering what kind of deal can be expected on ordering new? This would be an outright buy with no trade. I rarely see any Camaro’s of any model at my local dealers so I would most likely have to go out of my area to order a ZL1. Also do you think there will be a increase of used ZL1's hitting the market in the spring when the new corvettes start to arrive?

ZL1 doesn’t have a million build combos like the lower trims, you should be able to find whatever you want in dealer inventory at some point. Only four options really, beyond color: 1LE, sunroof, PDR, and auto trans. CF hood and dash insert can easily be added later.

I’m looking at ZL1’s too and have bookmarked every 2019 left nationwide in my build combo. If/when we see 15-20% off leftovers like they had on the 2018s and there are any good ones left I won’t really care where the dealer is, I’ll fly out one way and drive the car home.

You probably won’t save any money ordering a new one but if a dealer has one sitting on the lot that you like then you could more than likely get a good/better deal. Search for one with the options/colors on the car sales websites and I bet you will find one that will suit your fancy! I was real lucky when I found my used 2017 ZL1 on Cars.com last March that it had everything I wanted on a ZL1 and the color was okay too! Really looking for white but silver was a good color too and now I’m glad I bought it!

I ordered mine... the incentives, rebates, and dealer discount, made it a better deal than some of the used ones that were available.

I got over 7k off msrp and I ordered mine. There are definitely better deals to be had if you're willing to wait, but there wasn't a riverside blue within 500 miles when i decided to order.

I was in the same boat. I looked everywhere for a used ZL1 conv. manual trans. I found a used one with 7k miles and I agreed to a price with a dealer. I drove 3 hours to the dealer to buy it. Unfortunately the car was not in the condition that the dealer stated it was in. Hard to believe with only 7k miles, but I just couldn't convince myself to buy the car.

I ended up buying a new 2019 for about $10k more than the used one. At the end of the day I spent a bit more than I initially wanted to, but I'm very happy I decided to buy new and I love the car. As a point of reference I paid $61k (plus tax and title) for a car that stickered for close to $72k and I got exactly what I wanted. I'm sure I may have been able to do a little better, but I felt pretty good about my deal. If you find what you want for a reasonable deal, I say buy it. I have zero regrets. Good luck!

I ordered my 2020 ZLE new last summer. As others have stated, manufacturer rebates at the time of taking delivery helped me save $500 off MSRP. I also qualify for GM supplier discount (aka friends and family discount, not full-blown GM Employee discount) through my employer so saved around $3k with that. I then also negotiated $1k off as I was a return customer to the dealership I bought my 2014 Silverado new from in the summer of 2014.

While the standard practice seems to be you order, you don't save. The reality is the dealership is saving a decent amount of money in not having to advertise to sell the car, paying for insurance for the car to sit on the lot, etc by you ordering and taking delivery of the car shortly after arrival. Ask to see the invoice price (what they paid for the vehicle) and compare to what they are trying to sell you the vehicle for (pre-taxes, plates, etc) and let the negotiating begin haha. I would just secure in writing with a sales manager's signature that your deposit on the car you're ordering be 100% refundable in case the car shows up to your dissatisfaction and/or they are playing a bit of hard ball with selling price when it comes time to crunch the numbers and get to the not-so-fun part of ordering a new vehicle

Without factoring in GM card points, I was able to get roughly $6500 off my '19 when I ordered last Feb. With better factory incentives and a little bit more patience, I could certainly see getting closer to $8-10k off of an ordered car.

I am in the process of trying to order a 2020 Zl1 Convertible M6 in the Boston area, paying cash. I am being told by all the local dealers there is no discount on factory orders. Not one dealer yet willing to go under $70K. My build on the Chevy site comes to $71,150.

BS, they can always give you a discount, they just don't want to. I ordered my car, got it for ~10% under MSRP, and many others had even better deals.

I would remind them that since you’re ordering you can literally go to any dealership
