SF bay area - Shop recommendations?

Hi all,

I just got my 2022 ZLE and I would love to get a few things done to it.
1) Corsa Active Valve axle back exhaust
2) ECU changes to get rid of startup roar, as-well-as the pops and bangs in track mode..

Any recommended shops to work with in the south bay area?

Thanks!

The best shop in the Bay Area that I know of is (shockingly) a dealership, Abel Chevrolet. They specialize in Corvettes, do lots of race cars, and the shop manager is a very accomplished racer himself (he races a Katech Z06). There are people who bring their cars to Abel from other states!

That said, you’d have to call Rich Wilhoff the Abel manager and see if this is the right job for them. I assume they wouldn’t touch the ECU.

Another shop that used to be big in the area is Synergy, but I haven’t used them in 14 years or so. So I’m not sure if they are a go-to shop these days. I know they build some pretty wild LS powered cars.

This is Synergy’s website, but I’d start by talking to Rich at Abel:

You don't need to smog it until it's five years old, but keep in mind that in CA they now check the ECU for the original checksum.

I know some guys in the Vette world talk about having two ECUs. One for SMOG, and one for the rest of the time. That could be an option.
