Agreed. OP, if comfy is your #1 goal you are better off looking at getting Katzkin leather seat covers.

Are those seat covers the real deal? They look nice on their website but I have never seen them in person or know anyone that has used them

Recaro seats are good when they get broken in to your body shape and weight. I wouldn’t trade mine for any other seats out there!

They’re not just seat covers. They are full replacement, they replace your current cloth covers. I think the full cost installed is somewhere around $1,500-$1,900 depending on the place you go to and what seat covers you choose. My suggestion would be to go onto Katzkin’s site pick the seat cover design type and color out and request a quote. They would likely be a little cheaper than Recaro’s or 2SS seats that would require you to swap your seat wiring harnesses over.

Can also go with leatherseats.com to replace your cloth covers with leather.

I installed a set of Katzkin of replacement leather upholstry on my 2013 Silverado, which came with cloth originally (after driving a 2009 with leather for 5 years). I thought the Katzkin was just as good quality as the OEM, maybe better: Seemed like a little more supple and more consistent grain.

I installed them myself and when I traded the truck in with about 10,000 miles on the seats, the used car manager asked where I had the upholstry done because the fit was better than their usual place. So replacing the upholstry does not require any special skill if you're otherwise mechanically inclined. Again, Katzkin is replacemet upholstry so you need to remove the "cloth" down to the foam and install the leather. They're not those janky faux-leather slip-overs for 1/8 the price and fasten with elastic and velcro straps...

When I was shopping Camaros, I was initially including the lower trims and budgeted adding Katzkin or LeathersSeats.com based on this previous experience. Ended up finding a higher optioned vehicle so didn't need to go this route, but would consider it again if necessary.

I haven't sat in the Recaros but I hear they are very uncomfortable on long trips.

I sat in recaros of the ZL1 as those are the only ones I could find. The car was brand new. I am around 210 5'8 but 36 waist. When I drive stick I like to let my left leg be angled more sideways. Those recaros weren't having that and felt uncomfortable. Didn't want any regrets, so that the main reason I didn't order 1LE. I sat in the 2SS seats on another 2016 and 2018 I test drove and despite being beat up, they were extremely comfortable. If you're tall slim build the recaros shouldnt be a problem, but I don't know if they're going to be more comfortable than 2SS leather unless on track.

You heard wrong. Best seats for long distance I've ever had, and I'm an old guy (1962 model).

The guy you "heard" this from may have been overweight.

1963 model myself and I find the Recaros to be quite comfortable as well. I was actually worried about spending 5 hours or longer in one when I purchased my car from a dealer 225 miles from me. They were unexpectedly very comfortable for the entire trip home. And I'm on the larger side as well with no issues with the bolstering being confining or uncomfortable. In fact I wish the seats in my other vehicles were as comfortable.
