PO15B

Just had my engine light come on. PO15B code. The only mod is a CAI installed 5K miles ago...been running fine with no code until today.

So apparently the code means running lean (O2 sensor, B1S1).

Think it's safe to clear the code and run until I do more mods late this fall?

I don't know if this is enough to cause the code: I just found two small leaks, one on each of the bottom forward edge of the mufflers. The soot is about 4" in diameter.

Do you have headers? If so your tuner should have disabled all of the slow response DTC's. Not caused by the muffler drain holes. If you don't have headers, Could be the left front O2 sensor going bad

I have them, but not yet installed (having them ceramic coated).

Do you think it be the cai (CAI)? That's been installed for 5 months...no issues until yesterday.

I will check the O2. Thanks!

replace the sensor when you install the headers. You will still need a tune to get this code removed by your tuner.

Well...I cleared the code Sunday with my scan tool. Have put 130 miles on it since and no more code. I will get the sensor regardless.

To repeat what they said, and add info about tuning if I understand it;
The tune will remove the rear sensors from being considered. They are there to check the operation of the cats. If you keep the cats the sensors might not be adjusted in the tune. With no cats the rear sensors will throw a code error. The front sensors would be wanted to keep the closed loop tune operational. To adjust the rich / lean based on temperatures and altitude and your mods. The front sensors are important. If you have them in error now, besides poor running or bad mpg you could overheat and ruin your cat. I wouldn't really let that go too long myself if you have cats.

The only mod I've made is CAI (and SC tank). I didn't think that would throw a code.

I have headers and will have a tune when those are installed (with some other mods).

I understood that the sensor might be bad...or the connection or wiring. Not that I have altered the mix that much by adding a CAI. Or am I wrong in that (that a CAI will throw a code)?

I understand what you are stating though: if it's a bad sensor...replace it.

Good deal...I wouldn't worry much about the code until all of your mods are installed. Cruising around won't cause any problems with just that code.
