RED SPARK PLUG WIRE BOOTS ???

Hey guys... So if you have been following my build, you saw that I decided it was important for my valve covers and spark plug wire boots to match!
In doing so, i purchased a set of 2,500F boots from trusty old AMAZON and after 3-4 data log sessions, they are turning black and im worried they are going to melt and catch fire... thoughts?

Also, anyone found a brand that wont turn black?
Or do i need to put vanity aside and get some proper titanium versions from Katech or others?

Following this thread. I’m in the beginning stages of my build. BTW, where did you get your coils/wires from? Looks perfect

Thank you, I like them also (minus the burnt boots) I got the coil relocation kit and cables from Katech, and the MSD coils off Amazon. My build thread is here, if you want to see more...

I used the MSG wires and the heat burned right through one wire. Yes my headers are coated with Swaintech which is one of the best and the wires where not touching the headers. I switched to Granatelli wires with boots and they are great.

Another vote for Granatelli wires here. They’re very nice and work mint.

Are you guys using wire protectors in addition to the Granatelli wires? Or, are those wires rated for extremely high temps? Thanks

The top of line ones come with the additional fire sleeves. Not cheap but I’ve been running them for a year and a half with zero issues.

I switched to Granatelli wires with my build because of the zero resistance they provide. Not running any boots and don't feel I need them. My headers are not coated either.

I have the DEI Protect-a-boots from Phastek and no issues so far with scorching through.

To each his own. I view mine as a tool that's all about function and will never see a car show, but I keep the exterior nice.
