Finally Reached My Goal

I have been on this forum for like a decade and have had 3 different Camaros during that time. When this 6th Gen came out I new this would be the one. I bought this car 5 years ago, this is actually the longest car I have ever owned. This thing has truly reached every goal I have set for it.

Went 11.2 with just a tire
Went 10s with boltons
Went 9.6 with a cam added
Went 9.0 with a 2650 & 15” conversion added
And now has gone 8.84 at 156 with Holley Port injection on X85.

This really is a great platform.

Great platform overall, just REALLY expensive to get to where you are. Cheaper to get there on other platforms. Kudos to achieving your goal!

Nice Pass!!



Side note: Now that Port Injection has become more affordable, I think you can get a ZL1 into the 8's for less than some think.

Kong X port- 2k
ToohighPSI PI- 2500.00 with injectors
Aux low side- 1200.00
upper and lower pulleys- 1k
big gulp- 500.00
103mm tb- 600.00
flex sensor and E- 250.00
headers- 1000.00
drag pack- 3k for Welds Lagunas with tires.

Comes in around 13,200.00. Let's just say for under 15k you should be able to get one in the 8's with basic weight reduction. Seats/exhaust. No longer need a cam since we have all the fuel with PI.

I have been down these roads a million times. 11k in this car plus tuning went 9.0@151 or 152. How much for hellcat to do that. Show me proof and not a damn shop car that’s gutted.

Go to a track and have real world experience. Besides shop cars like LMP, amp, and pray.

But what are you using to control the Toohigh PSI port injection plates? Holley system is the way to go but its going to add a LOT of cost to this. You might be able to get away with MAF Fusion or Reflex Plus but that's not the preferred option unless you're just trying to pinch pennies. I do agree that as the port injection plates and controllers continue to drop in price, the gap will close on this platform considerably.

That price includes the reflex plus and has proven to be very capable and easy to tune. I don't know what you mean by preferred, but it hasn't been out long enough for those using Holley to prefer one or the other. I suppose once it gets wideband support some bigger name shops might switch to it.
