Thanks for this

I just purchased an already ported LT2 manifold and this thread really helped me to understand what to expect. Do you know if the factory strut tower brace would still fit? It looks like there is enough space between the brace and LT1 manifold and cover but I’m not positive.

Already posted about this.. the gm strut brace litteraly sits on top of the lt2 manifold and that’s without the cover. So tight u can’t slide a piece of paper between.. so yes it technically fits.. but the movement of the motor under load can possibly put too much pressure on the manifold.. I had a welder notch out my strut brace and weld more back inside to reinforce what he did

Update- after a few weeks of having installed. Checked the torque on the manifold bolts and every single one backed off from 89 to around 60 inpnds.. don’t know if whether it just settled or if this is something I’m gonna need to check every couple weeks until I get tired of it and add some loctite... so if u haven’t checked them, check them

Per Alldata

Apply a 5 mm (0.20 in) band of threadlock to the threads of the intake manifold bolts. See: Specifications\Fluid Types\Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers.
Remove the covers from the cylinder head passages.

I am getting mine today and will do a test fit with a few washers on the strut tower brace. I would rather bump it up a half inch with spacers/washers and a longer bolt then take out a chunk of the strut bar.

Not sure if I would go the route of the loctite on the bolts. You could break a bolt if you ever need to take the manifold off and you will not be able to loosen them with a torch because of the plastic material. I wonder if just a touch longer bolt would help?

Has anyone measured a Corvette bolt to a Camaro bolt?

That specific threadlocker specified is medium strength, equivalent to Loctite Blue. You won't break bolts removing that, but it provides some insurance that they won't back out.

Has anyone taken the time to make these prettier? I know I could just purchase a corvette cover and call it a day, but I don't want my engine saying "Corvette" Might have to see if I can find someone to make something for the car to cover the manifold and make it a little prettier.

I am getting the corvette cover but I will somehow get rid of the corvette lettering with some type of overlay with Camaro. A few have talked about this already so somebody might come up with the solution.

Holy batcrap Batman, I finally got one minutes ago from Rockauto! I put my email in to notify me so many times, I had forgotten. Of course, I never received a notification, I just happened to google search the number and found they had one left!! I already have the map harness extension. Now for whatever else I need......
